In recent years, online shopping for various items such as clothing, jewelry, and electronics has
increased dramatically, as has the selling of medicines through the internet. Due to current
circumstances around the world, online pharmacy is one of the technological advances that has a high
demand. Online pharmacy is a web-based application. Users can submit requirement/prescriptions for
medicine and purchase medicine online. The Medicine delivery will be provided by the nearest
associated store. Ordering medication needs a prescription. Users can scan for medicine and useful
information based on their prescription. This application will provide guidance about how to take
medication on a regular basis. This program allows users to log in. They are able to keep track of their
account.
Online pharmacy makes it easy to buy a wide range of medications. These have a number of benefits,
including lower prices, easier usability, and delivery to your doorstep. Online pharmacies have their
own set of drawbacks, such as the dispensing of medications without a prescription, the sale of
substandard medications, and so on. Over the last decade, the problem of purchasing medicines online
has become a source of concern for pharmacists and the broader healthcare community. Many
commentators have mentioned associated risks and benefits for people seeking medications, with or
without a prescription, on the Web. Online pharmacies will play a role in future medicine delivery, and
they will be able to offer cognitive services in addition to medications. To avoid losing a younger
‘wired' generation of potential parents and careers, brick-and-mortar pharmacies should consider the
value they bring to the trade.
The project aims to analyze the scope and benefit of a leading pharmaceutical organization in Sri Lanka
to implementing an online pharmacy. Further the project engages in design, development, advantages,
disadvantages, competitor stance and review of online pharmacy for the reputed medical institution.
Various findings were validated through interview with professional and key stakeholders in the
medical field and related questionaries distributed to stakeholders. |
