Abstract:
Beauty industry has never stopped expanding its dimensions throughout past decades as it is one of the most important services in our day today life. Unlike other services, almost every person in the society eventually needs the services from a beautician. Those services can be very needed services like hair cutting, beard shaving, grey hair covering and less essential services like manicure, pedicure, facials etc. Though the service industry is expanding widely, it is noticeable that beauty industry has not yet acquired the advance of Information Technology in providing its services to customers, especially in Sri Lanka. As a solution to the poor online presence in the beauty industry, Beauty Me is an on demand mobile application which connects the beauticians and customers through a mobile platform and fulfils the technology gaps in the beauty industry. Though in the traditional service requesting is more based on physical interactions, through Beauty Me, customers can find a qualified beautician through the mobile application from anywhere at any time. An inductive research approach was conducted in order to find out the current state of the problem, through interviews and literature survey. Requirement gathering phase was completed based on the findings of interviews, questionnaires and literature survey.
