Abstract:
"Sri Lanka recognizes the urgency of dealing with climate challenges, yet public engagement in these efforts is lacking. The proposed solution is the development of a user-friendly
Web/Mobile app utilizing modern technology to enhance community collaboration and improve disaster preparedness. By creating a platform that bridges the gap between climate initiatives and public participation, the goal is to empower individuals and collectively address the pressing issue of climate change.
In tackling the problem at hand, the approach involved creating an accessible Web/Mobile app incorporating smart technology. This encompassed the implementation of features for climate monitoring, carbon reduction, disaster prediction, and efficient rescue coordination. The methodology centers around providing practical tools that empower local communities, fostering a sense of shared responsibility in the face of climate challenges. The app aims to catalyze active community engagement and preparedness.
Preliminary findings showcase promising advancements in addressing climate risks. For a machine learning project like this, key quantitative metrics, including confusion metrics and AUC-ROC for classification problems, or RMSE and MSE for regression problems, will be instrumental in evaluating the app's efficacy. These results underscore the potential positive impact of the app, emphasizing its role in contributing significantly to mitigating climate risks for both the local Sri Lankan population and individuals worldwide."
