Abstract:
Learning Management System (LMS) provides an integrated platform for content, delivery and management
of learning as well as accessibilities by a range of users that includes learners, content creators and
administrators which are now used by most of the Higher Education Institutions (HEI) worldwide.
Interpersonal communication makes the learning effective. Though some LMSs have integrated Social
Networking Sites (SNS) they diverge students’ concentration from learning to entertainments. Researches
indicate that online discussion forums are preferred by students and a powerful communication tool for
effective learning. It is believed that analyzing ones performance from the opinions of people is more accurate.
Distributing closed-end questions to students to get the feedback about the educator and issues in the course
do not provide appropriate evaluation and students might be afraid to complain and talk about the educator’s
teaching ability. There are no LMSs to analyze and evaluate educators and learners performance based on the
contents in forums using sentiment analysis and to restrict the irrelevant things being posted on the discussion
to prevent students’ behavior.
To overcome the above mentioned limitation of LMSs, a system is developed to analyze the educators and
learners performance based on the opinions in the forum.
