Abstract:
Significant obstacles stand in the way of Sri Lankans' access to higher education, main problem among them being enrollment limits at private colleges and capacity limitations in public universities. This study explores the intricate problems faced by applicants to government universities who are denied admission because of space and financial limitations but who are nonetheless eligible to apply. It also looks at the additional obstacles, such as cost issues, that these students must overcome in order to attend private universities. The goal of the study is to conduct a thorough analysis of the complex nature of these barriers and how they affect individuals looking for chances for higher education. By looking at how institutional constraints, economic variables, and educational policies and political parties interact. Therefore, the author has developed a solution for this problem through “EduHelp” which is a mobile application that can match students with donors and donors with students to ease them of their financial constraints. It also gives recommendations to students on the matching scholarship programs , degree programs according to the degree program they were chosen for in the government university and universities where the degree program is available.
