Abstract:
"This project explores the concerns pet owners face when traveling with their pets and the
challenges they face in providing proper healthcare for their furry companions while on the
go, particularly the lack of access to reliable veterinary services.
Pet owners face various challenges when trying to find veterinary care for their pets, such
as difficultly locating clinics in unfamiliar areas and the higher costs associated with out
of-location appointments. Additionally, carrying around paper medical records for their
pets can be inconvenient and risky, as they can easily be lost and make it harder for new
veterinarians to provide proper care, especially in urgent situations.
This project introduces a new web app called ""HealPaws"" designed to help pet owners
monitor and manage their pet's health while traveling. Users can input their pet's symptoms
into the system, which then provides guidance on potential illnesses and first-aid measures.
This information can be useful in providing temporary care for a pet until they can see a
veterinarian.
HealPaws offers more than just symptom analysis by providing a secure cloud-based
storage system for pet health records. This allows owners to keep a complete medical
history for their pet that can be easily accessed from any device. The system also allows
for secure sharing of these records with veterinarians, making it easier to manage pet care
during travel without the need for physical documents.
HealPaws provides pet owners with tools to analyze symptoms and manage their pets'
health records, helping to reduce the anxiety of traveling with pets. This project aims to
give pet owners the confidence to travel with their pets, knowing they can effectively
address any health issues that may come up. "
