Abstract:
"Online education has been the norm for students and tutors in recent times. After
the covid 19 pandemic, many schools and universities have adapted to online
learning practices. However, for students in Sri Lanka who require additional
tutoring, there is no free and easily accessible platform dedicated for that purpose.
The Aim of this project is to analyze and research on the online tutoring practices of
students over 18 years in Sri Lanka and design and develop an online tutoring
platform by coding testing and evaluating web development languages, APIs, and
best practices to create a collaborative all in one platform for students and tutors to
engage in tutoring sessions with enhanced learning experience. In the research study
a web-based student tutoring and collaboration platform was proposed. The
proposed solution was developed according to DSDM agile software development
approach which emphasizes on on-time delivery of a project as well as accuracy.
Requirements for this project was gathered through online surveys and literature
research. The developed solution is in line with the requirements defined in the
PSDP report. User testing done after development proved the system is easy to use
and serves its purpose as a tutoring platform. Further improvements are scheduled
to be done in the future."
