dc.description.abstract Poverty is a prevailing predicament in the world today. The growing wealth disparity suggested that poverty can be curbed by encouraging the rich to give to the poor. That is the whole basis of charity organizations and their projects. But because of scandals and the lack of transparency, public distrust in charities has grown. People are unsure of how their donations are being used and whether it reaches the needy at all. This solution proposes to use blockchain technology to create a transparent and decentralized charity donation system. The system will connect donors (who donates funds to charities), charity organizations (who formulates projects and goals, receives funds and adds proof of goal completion), and authorities (trusted bodies like NGOs and government institutions who can verify goal completions). By having this holistic, trackable, transparent process, that isn’t governed by a single body. the charities will regain trust from the public and be held accountable for the funds they receive.
