EIWA - Educational Institute Web Application

Abstract

The management of administrative, academic, and communication processes within tuition institutions in Sri Lanka remains largely fragmented and inefficient. Most existing solutions either rely on disconnected systems or imported platforms that fail to address local institutional needs, particularly the lack of parental engagement, centralized data handling, and real-time academic tracking. This research presents EIWA (Educational Institute Web Application) — a web-based platform built using the MERN stack — designed to streamline operations across tuition institutes by unifying student information systems, learning management tools, and internal communication within a single platform. The system features role-based access for administrators, teachers, students, and parents, enabling seamless data management, realtime performance tracking, and two-way communication. Through iterative development and structured evaluation, EIWA was tested for usability, performance, and system reliability. The results confirmed the platform’s ability to enhance transparency, reduce manual workloads, and improve engagement among all stakeholders. Its modular, scalable design ensures adaptability across varying institutional contexts. By bridging functional gaps in existing systems, this project contributes a localized, practical solution to educational institutes seeking digital transformation, improved efficiency, and stakeholder collaboration in the Sri Lankan context.
