dc.description.abstract Effective early warning and prediction systems must be developed because lightning presents serious dangers to infrastructure, property, and human life. In order to lessen the effects of lightning-related dangers, this abstract describes the architecture and operation of a Lightning Early Warning and Prediction System (LEWPS).To deliver timely notifications and forecasts of lightning activity, LEWPS combines real-time lightning detecting technology, weather monitoring systems, and sophisticated predictive algorithms. To identify and track thunderstorm formation and lightning occurrence, the system makes use of a network of ground-based lightning sensors, satellite pictures, and meteorological data. en_US
