Bus Tracking Application- BusBuzz

Abstract

BusBuzz is a comprehensive bus-tracking application designed to enhance the public transportation experience in Sri Lanka. The primary objective of the app is to provide commuters with real-time bus location tracking, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and push notifications, enabling passengers to plan their journeys with greater accuracy and convenience. BusBuzz effectively addresses the common challenges faced by travellers, particularly long waiting times and the uncertainty of bus arrival schedules. Developed for iOS using Xcode, BusBuzz integrates with Firebase for seamless real-time data synchronization and secure user authentication. The application also incorporates Google Sign-In to facilitate a streamlined login process for frequent commuters/users. Real-time tracking of buses is powered by Firebase's Realtime Database, ensuring that bus locations and arrival times are consistently updated with high accuracy. Targeted at daily commuters in Sri Lanka, including those using buses operated by the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB), private bus Operators, and highway bus services, the app provides an intuitive and user-friendly interface that allows users to effortlessly navigate the city's bus system. The smooth UI ensures that all required information is easily accessible, minimizing any inconvenience for passengers. By leveraging modern technologies, BusBuzz offers a practical, user-centric solution aimed at improving the urban commuting experience. The project strives to enhance the efficiency, convenience, and safety of public transportation in Sri Lanka, making it easier for passengers to manage their bus travel and better plan their daily commutes.
