This project report presents the development of a web-based Electronic Health Record
Management System designed to securely store and manage healthcare records of diabetic
patients in Embilipitiya, Sri Lanka. The system aims to replace paper-based records with
a digital solution that includes features for sending reminders for tests and medications, as
well as analyzing patients’ past health records. The project targets diabetic patients and
healthcare providers at the District General Hospital in Embilipitiya, with a focus on improving
record-keeping efficiency and patient care. The system was developed using Java
and the Spring framework for the backend, React for the frontend, and follows the MVC
architecture. This report details the problem definition, project motivation, aims and objectives,
resources, existing work, system design, implementation, and testing, along with
discussions on social, legal, ethical, and professional issues. The project demonstrates the
potential for future expansion and commercialization, with considerations for scalability
and user experience. |
