dc.description.abstract |
This project is a development of a mobile application to gain weather information related to maritime transportation. This mobile application named; Oceania would provide forecasted weather details about an intended maritime location. By receiving these weather-related predictions maritime personal could better understand the nature of the oncoming weather in their destination. This would better equip them to counter against weather related catastrophes. The ones who are more cautious could mitigate the impact of these disasters my choosing alternative destinations. In addition, sailors would have the opportunity to efficiently and effectively plan their sea voyages by using Oceania weather application. In addition to the weather component, the author is currently in the phase of developing a disaster management system which would be vital in sudden and unpredictable natural phenomena. |
