dc.description.abstract "The use of digital services has significantly increased the importance of digital images in communication channels. However, this has also raised concerns about the privacy and security of users. It cannot be guaranteed that only intended recipients have access to these images. While encryption mechanisms are available to protect highly secure images, there is still a need to improve the security measures for shared images and ensure the privacy of users. To bolster image privacy and augment security, an innovative user-centric biometric and geo- metric sensitive encryption method is introduced. This employs a novel technique, the Stego- Banner, generated through steganography. The banner incorporates human-readable and machine-readable information, serving as an additional metadata layer for the encrypted image. This facilitates indexing and authentication requirements at the receiver end before decryption. The new process has been assessed from three perspectives: face verification and Geo coordinates key accuracy based FRR, FAR rates and image structural similarity in terms of shape, color, intensity, blur, and scale. The preliminary test results indicate that the face verification approach has 0% FAR and 5% FRR rates. Geo coordinate-based key has low FAR and FRR rates due to the adjustable tolerated distance. Moreover, the encrypted image versus the decrypted image has shown a 95.17% similarity score. In the initial results, it has been proven that the solution is syntactic and adds an additional layer of security to image sharing." en_US
