dc.description.abstract "Counterfeit drugs pose severe risks to public health due to compromised treatment efficacy and safety. This research presents a blockchain-based solution to enhance the authenticity and traceability of pharmaceuticals in the supply chain. By utilizing a decentralized ledger and smart contracts, the system ensures tamper-proof recording of drug production, distribution, and delivery data. Each drug package is tagged with a unique identifier linked to its blockchain record, allowing real-time tracking and verification by manufacturers, distributors, and consumers. The system, implemented on the Ethereum blockchain with a React-based interface, automates compliance checks and detects anomalies, enhancing transparency and reducing fraud. Initial testing demonstrated the system’s ability to identify counterfeit drugs and maintain data integrity. This solution not only strengthens trust and safety but also reduces costs by minimizing intermediaries. Future work will focus on scaling and integrating the system with existing frameworks." en_US
