Atomo - An Individual Performance Analysis Tool to Accommodate Continuous Growth in Agile Teams.

Abstract

In Agile software development, assessing team performance is crucial for optimizing project effectiveness. While evaluating the team as a whole provides a comprehensive view, analyzing individuals offers deeper insights into their contributions and areas for improvement. This dissertation highlights the importance of individual performance analysis in teams to optimize project outcomes. A gap has been identified in current tools like Jira's ability to provide individual- level metrics. Existing reports focus primarily on team-level data, necessitating manual effort for individual performance assessment. The research underscores the necessity for a tool offering quantitative key performance metrics for individuals, aiding managers in enhancing team performance and project delivery. The author introduces "Atomo," a solution designed to address this gap. Atomo integrates with Jira and provides several researched individual key performance metrics. This application assists Project Managers in conducting individual performance analyses to identify performance gaps and facilitate continuous growth in team members. Legal, ethical, and social issues related to the solution are analyzed, alongside the design, implementation, and testing of the product. The solution has been positively evaluated by industry experts. The dissertation concludes with future works and recommendations, enhancing Atomo's potential for aiding Agile teams in achieving optimal performance and fostering ongoing development.
