CSRColalb- A Platform for companies to make effective CSR investments by collaborating with non-profit organizations.

Abstract

This project intends to empower collaboration between corporate companies and non-profit organizations on community service projects to promote effective CSR investments towards a better tomorrow. The outcome of the project is CSRCollab; an innovative platform facilitating the above-mentioned collaboration. Corporate companies often partner up with non-profit organizations in order to carry out projects as a mean of achieving the annual CSR goals as the non-profits have the capacity and the resources to carry out these projects on a wider scale with the funding gained from the corporates. However, the current partnership process is cumbersome and leads to a lot ambiguity and dissatisfaction between the parties due to various underlying causes such as requirement mismatch and communication difficulties. Hence the need for a process to streamline the CSR partnership process was evident and is the foundation for this project. CSRCollab is an IT Solution consisting of a web-based collaboration platform complimented by other features aimed at resolving the shortcomings prevalent in the CSR partnership process between corporates and non-profit organizations. The solution was developed after carrying out an in-depth research and analysis to beneficial for both parties of the collaboration. It will subsequently also create a favorable impact on the society and impact through the projects carried out via the partnerships initiated on the platform. The solution was evaluated for the effectiveness of addressing the problems and was rated as highly effective by personnel in the industry. This report covers the end-to-end process of the development of CSRCollab from the inception of the project to the evaluation as it progresses along the timeline to being a fully-fledged IT solution.
