"In recent past of Sri Lanka, there was a severe economic crisis which affected the entire
country along with the restrictions and regulations in imports caused a great downfall
in the economy. Focusing on the textile industry, the organization like retailers,
wholesalers and garment factories was not able to continue their operations due to lack
of raw materials, even though there were small scale suppliers with stocks located in
the non – urban parts of the country where the purchasers could not locate without a
middlemen which was the major problem.
The aim of this project is to analyze the problem of the purchasers not being to find out
their particular suppliers with adequate raw materials to design, develop, test and
evaluate an application that would make the purchasers search and find for their
supplier or materials throughout the country.
As a result of the research, an application was developed in order to connect the buyer
and suppliers of specifically the textile industry. Questionnaire and interview were the
requirement elicitation technique and other techniques like iterative approach, project
management technique and agile development approach was chosen as the software
development technique.
A working prototype was successfully implemented with the functions that were listed
in the system requirements elicitation including the processes of design, development
and testing." |
