dc.description.abstract "In general, we tend to link environmental pollution to distant manufacturing, mining, or power enterprises. We often forget about the person at a shopping mall or ourselves, throwing out old clothes and making room for new ones. The truth is that today the clothing and fashion industries have a major impact on environmental pollution. The fashion industry is the second dirtiest environmental pollution in the world today. The long supply chain of the fashion business including production, raw materials, textile manufacturing, shipping, sale, and finally disposal causes immense wastage of water as well as the use of hazardous toxic chemicals. The second largest clean water polluter is textile dyeing. One of the most used, popular, and cost-effective materials in the fashion industry is Polyester. Polyester shredding of microfibers increases the plastic level in oceans and endangers oceanic life and aquatic life globally. Even though we as consumers don’t tend to think about our impact on environmental pollution, we consumers are a main factor in it. As consumers, in this fast-growing fashion world, we can take some actions to reduce these environmental impacts. As a company what “Shift Clothing” does is, fills the gap between those who want to buy quality clothes at a lower price and those who want to sell their used clothes in good condition. Few researchers have found that people have unworn clothes in their wardrobes higher than worn clothes. Whenever they try to buy new clothes what people do mostly is throw the old clothes including these unworn clothes and clothes in good condition. We “Shift Clothing” are making a new brand and a marketplace for people to buy and sell these clothes with confidence. When it comes to buying used products it’s normal for people to doubt the condition and quality of the product they are buying. So as “Shift Clothing” we make sure our customers get quality products. This type of business model can help to reduce environmental pollution by keeping the manufactured clothes in use for a longer period. This also reduces the manufacturing of new clothes and can help to slow down the fashion industry in some ways. Another main advantage of this business is people can make some extra money by selling their used clothes and people can buy clothes for cheaper prices." en_US
