"First aid knowledge and instruction are difficult to get in Sri Lanka, which contributes to a lack of understanding of the value of providing first aid in emergency situations. This may lead to delayed or ineffective treatment, which could cause additional complications or even fatalities. As a result, Sri Lanka needs a trustworthy source of first aid knowledge and instruction. By creating a mobile application that can offer direction and support in emergency situations, the project aims to address the difficulties faced by the people in Sri Lanka who are underprepared for first aid. The suggested solution aims to help users deal with emergency situations quickly and effectively while reducing the risk of harm to those who are directly impacted.
The application has a simple user interface that enables quick access to gain knowledge on common illnesses and injuries as well as detailed instructions on how to administer first aid. The application is made to be usable by people with little to no prior First Aid experience as well as to act as a reference manual for those who do. The development process involves researching the most prevalent injuries and illnesses, analyzing the current state of first aid in Sri Lanka, and developing a practical and user-friendly mobile application. An online first aid guidelines and awareness app were designed and created as part of this project to assist people in Sri Lanka in case of a medical emergency. The usability and effectiveness of the app were assessed, and suggestions for additional enhancements and future work were made. The resulting application improves the accessibility and availability of such information to the general public in Sri Lanka by providing accurate and reliable information on emergency medical care and First Aid." |
