dc.description.abstract "With over +30 000 000 visits on average per year, the public health sector shows relentless effort in catering for the Sri Lankan population whether it is in hospitals, laboratories, or pharmacies. For the vast majority of the population, the process of a medical visit can be summarised as; • Scheduling appointments • Visiting the doctor • Getting hardcopies of medical reports & prescriptions • Finally, once back home sorting the reports in a file, never to be seen again. The current situation of our healthcare system is that its paper based, and it comes with lots of inconveniences such as the possibility of misplacing reports, reports being cumbersome to be carried around for every medical visits or increasing the risks of errors or duplications. Without mentioning the environmental and financial impacts of having to use large amount of paper every day. Extensive research have been carried out taking the form of proposals, literature reviews, software requirement systems report from various literature sources such as books, research papers, journals and website along with interviews and survey allowing the design of a prototype and the implementation of a full-fledge solution. Finally, some User Acceptance Testing have been conducted to check if the solution is behaving the way it is supposed in the real world with the intended actors. All the findings have been recorded in this report detailing every step of each process from the initial research up until the completion of the project along with the used methodologies during the implementation of the solution." en_US
