"Tourism has traditionally been the country's third-largest source of foreign currency. Due to the fallout from the April 2019 Easter Terror Attacks, in 2019, Sri Lanka received over 1.9 million tourist arrivals, a 21% decrease from the past year. In 2019, the sector was expected to earn approximately $3.5 billion. In 2020, 570,000 tourists were expected to arrive. The global COVID-19 pandemic crippled the industry in 2020, which now caters almost entirely to local tourists and international arrivals under strict ""travel bubble"" restrictions. The current economic crisis has also impacted Sri Lanka's tourism.
This project focuses on people who want to travel and those who don't know how to organize a trip, solving those problems by creating a website. The user will benefit from the implementation because it will save him time and allow him to travel more. As a result, the performance aids the user's mental fitness by relieving stress from all possible circumstances. There are existing solutions in countries other than Sri Lanka, but the solution developed is tailored to the local public. The key findings that led to the development of this solution are the inability of people to travel, the difficulties in booking travel packages, and the ease with which these problems can be solved by implementing a website. After researching the problem domain, it was discovered that it is a timely solution to be implemented; additionally, to maximize the website's usability, the design should be appropriately done while considering the functionalities of ""STO.""
